Description
When Odessa Cotter, a housekeeper for Miriam Thompson, chooses to honor the 1955 Montgomery bus boycott by walking the nine miles to and from work, Miriam offers Odessa a ride. Defying Miriam's husband and the town council and finding their lives threatened because of it, they manage to find common ground and forge a lasting friendship.
