Twister (1996, 113 min.): Scientists pursue the most destructive weather front to sweep through mid-America's Tornado Alley in 50 years.

Poseidon (2006, 98 min.): Over 2,000 passengers and crew are celebrating New Year's Eve aboard the luxury cruise ship 'Poseidon' on the open sea. Without warning, at midnight, a rogue wave hundreds of feet high, slams into the ship and rolls it upside down. Most of the passengers and crew are killed outright, but several hundred remain alive in the ballroom, where the party was being held. Realizing their only hope of rescue lies at the surface of the water, a handful of survivors, led by Dylan and Robert start to make their way past falling debris, flash fires, and the ever-present threat of flooding.

The perfect storm (2000, 130 min.): In October 1991, three raging weather fronts, one of them a powerful hurricane, combined in the North Atlantic to form the greatest storm in recorded history. Caught in the storm was the sword-fishing boat Andrea Gail. Billy Tyne is the sword-fishing boat captain of the Gail who is from Gloucester. Tyne is highly competitive, but has been stung by a string of poor outings. His crew is hardly back in port when he tells them he's going out again, even though it's October and the weather can turn ugly. Five join him. At first, they catch little, so they sail east, Tyne ignores the storm warnings behind him. Finally, the fish bite, but when the ice machine fails the men decide to try to head back with the catch that they have waited so long to get.
