Description
Tells about the engineering creations that have enabled railroads to overcome geographic obstacles. These "marvels" include: stone and reinforced concrete arched bridges, tunnels, cable lifts for portaging canal boats up an incline, horseshoe curves for climbing steep gradients, and centralized traffic control. Includes a segment on the Chunnel, the railroad tunnel that runs beneath the English Channel to connect England and France.
